Sports massage and surf recovery in Hossegor
For surfers, runners, cyclists and golfers, amateur or competitive: preparation before an event and recovery after the sessions.

After a surf session: shoulders, neck, lower back
A week of paddling loads the shoulders and upper back; the pop-up and the arch on the board load the lower back and the neck. Add a few hours in a wetsuit and the whole posterior chain shortens.
The work draws on traditional Chinese medicine, fascia therapy and assisted stretching, and adapts to what you surfed, for how long, and what your week looks like.

Deep Stretch & Massage
Assisted stretching on the table, then deep tissue trigger point massage: the protocol goes after the restrictions massage alone does not reach. It is the session I suggest after a period of intense effort, a surf trip or a race.
See it in the treatmentsDeep tissue, fascia or stretching — which one?
Deep tissue when you are sore and know where: shoulders, lower back, calves. Fascia therapy (Tissual Balancing®) when you feel stiff rather than sore, or when the same spot keeps coming back: the fascia wraps muscles and joints, and when it stops gliding, movements shorten and compensations set in. Thai-inspired assisted stretching (Be.Stretch®) when you want range of motion back, with guided stretches deeper than what you manage alone. If you are not sure, tell me what you did and what pulls, and I will choose with you.
Before or after a surf trip, a trail or the Quiksilver Pro week
Before: a lighter session two or three days ahead, to arrive loose. After: deep work on the loaded areas, ideally within 48 hours. During the contest week in autumn, say which day you compete and I will plan the session around it.
At the studio or at your surf camp

Your questions
What is the difference between sports massage and deep tissue?
Sports massage is about recovery and range of motion for a given activity: it is paced, targeted and can be brisk. Deep tissue works slowly into the denser layers and the trigger points that keep tension going. In practice I combine both according to what you did and how your body reacts.
How soon after surfing should I book?
The same evening or the next day if you are sore: the sooner the tissues are worked, the shorter the stiffness. Forty-eight hours later if it is more of a general stiffness than soreness, which suits fascia therapy or assisted stretching. Before a trip, two or three days ahead.
Do you treat injuries?
No. I am a wellness massage therapist, not a physiotherapist or an osteopath. For pain after a fall, a twist or a wipe-out, see a doctor or a physio first. Once the acute phase is over, massage can help the surrounding muscles let go.
Can a whole surf camp group book?
Yes. I set up once at the camp and treat people one after the other, usually at the end of the afternoon. Send the number of people and rough durations, and I will propose a sequence. In July and August, a few days' notice helps.
